Where I am in the game plus the guild I am in I don’t believe will be in a World First for anything. Do to the fact of being too relaxed don’t get me wrong I got tons of gear from this guild running (10/25 raids). But as most guilds we never have enough tanks on at raid time, other cases there is never enough healers on in the next couple weeks we should have that fixed. So in the upcoming weeks I will get to walk into Ulduar.

With World-first Heroic: Alone in the Darkness? Completed twice, and one group that went on a 3 day suspension for using an exploit in the game. World-first Heroic: Alone in the Darkness. An Chinese guild Stars (playing on the Taiwanese servers) completed after all of the drama. They have a video to prove it. The video cracks me up. With completing the achievement legitimately they got that nifty Mimiron's Head mount, too. (Wicked looking!) Congrats to Stars!

The PTR is an exciting place and there are plenty of fascinating little changes. One of the smallest is also the most important - at least is if you have a twink and a PvP addiction. Once patch 3.2 goes live your beloved twink will finally be able to battle to your heart's content, to slaughter the opposing faction and steal flags/bases without fear of gaining even one tinsy little experience point.

It costs gold of course but it's something which is sure to delight anyone who spends their days in battlegrounds. Twinks get their own special battleground and they can only play against other twinks who've visited Behsten in Stormwind or his colleague in Orgrimmar. It certainly validates twinkdom and a lot of people are going to be very happy.

However not me, of course, my dislike of PvP is almost legendary. But that's not the point. So, twinks everywhere, when patch 3.2 eventually hits are you going to part with your gold, borrowed from your sugar daddy main? Will it make you more likely to spend more time in PvP? Do you wish this lack of XP was extended to leveling in general, not just PvP activities? Speak up, constant readers, and drop your thoughts in the comments box.

WoWPals helps you find more friends in Azeroth

WoWPals.net is a brand new social networking site targeted at you WoW players that just got a nice bit of coverage over on VentureBeat's GamesBeat site. Social networking is taking off just as much as World of Warcraft lately, and so there's a whole slew of companies trying to step up and become the de facto social service for gamers, from GamerDNA and Rupture to wowtwitter and even our own little enterprise. WoWPals isn't too different -- it's run by a few gamers based in Israel, and is currently in alpha, and hoping for a beta by the end of the year. You register to the site with your first character, and after a short wait for an activation email, you can jump in and find friends by guild or server, or punch in your location and search around that way. Once you're friends, there's not much more to do but chat and message each other, but what more do you need, really?

Personally, I think WoW already covers the bases of a social network (though in the past I've said I would like to have the option to see more about players than the characters, and these sites can certainly fill that need), so all of these end up being either extraneous -- do I really need another Twitter just for my characters? -- or just plain unnecessary: maybe I don't want my friends to know exactly what I did in game last night.

So no, I personally haven't been sold on any of these sites yet (though I do like reading through the player blogs here on WoW.com, and I'm not just saying that because I work here). I'm active ingame, and I'm active on various social networks, and keeping the two separate is fine by me. But if you are looking for even more ways to find new friends in World of Warcraft, maybe you can meet some new pals with WoWPals, too.

Significant changes to Northrend flying mounts discovered on the Patch 3.2 PTR

A little surprise on the Patch 3.2 PTR was discovered this evening. The Cold Weather Flying training, which previously had to be purchased for each character that wanted to fly in Northrend is now available as a Bind on Account book purchasable at the exotic mounts vendor in Dalaran.

The Use text is a little odd in that it notes the "tome is consumed when read." To me that means that the book is only a one use thing, which is a departure from current BoA items. And why have a level 68 requirement on this and not the normal Cold Weather Flying training? If you're 68 you're likely to be able to get to Dalaran anyways these days.

But wait Did you see it? You might have missed it.

It shows level 68 being the required level, not level 77.

Did Northrend just become accessible to flying at level 68 instead of 77? If these PTR changes are for real, then it just did. Of course this is the PTR so such things are subject to change. Don't go bugging the Blues and tell them that we said it was happening. It might very well not make it into the final version of Patch 3.2.

But with that said, one possible explanation for the Use text on the tome is that the book is intended to be purchased by a high level character and then sent to an alt, thus speeding up the leveling process significantly for high level alts.

This change would be in line with the other mount changes that will be taking place in Patch 3.2. Blizzard clearly has an aim here to make leveling alts easier, principally by allowing various levels of mount flying sooner.

We'll keep you updated on any blue response to this very interesting development.

Update 1:15 a.m. EDT:

Guess what! Zarhym responded just a short time ago to a thread on the official forums clarifying the change. It looks like this could very well be making it onto the live servers. Zarhym said:

Blizzard files trademark for "Cataclysm"

Is "Cataclysm" the name of Blizzard's next-gen MMO? This Tumblr blogger has uncovered trademark applications filed by Blizzard in the fields of computer games, paper-based products, and online entertainment services. Those trademarks are on the USPTO's website, and we can confirm that Rod A. Rigole has been employed by Blizzard as legal counsel previously, so these trademark applications, all filed late last week on June 26th, are all real.

Of course, that doesn't confirm that we're actually talking about the next-gen MMO, or that Blizzard is planning on releasing a game called "Cataclysm" at all (StarCraft: Ghost was also trademarked, and we all know what came out of that). It could be another WoW expansion (though you'd think that WoW would be in there somewhere if that was the case), or it could be a completely separate game. Not that we know of one, but Blizzard certainly is working on all kinds of projects that we haven't yet heard about officially.

So. "Cataclysm." Trademark Blizzard Entertainment. Keep an eye out for it at BlizzCon this year.

Update: We noticed the domain wowcataclysm.com expired on June 26th, 2009. The domain was previously held and parked out in Australia. June 26th is the same day the trademark was filed with the US Patent & Trademark Office. The domain is also now held by GoDaddy, who we know handles Blizzard domains. That's just a little too much coincidence for us to stay quiet about. It's entirely possible Blizzard just acquired the domain name.

Both the Furnace Master and Tier 8.5 are the potential upgrade from Blue Aspect Helm. The major difference between the two is haste verses armor pen. Tier 8.5 has more agility and a red socket, while Furnace Master has a bit more intellect and a yellow socket. Leaning towards Tier 8.5. The Circlet looses a lot of AP, but also has a lot of hit.

Great Earth Mother, Darkcore Leggings have a ton of agility! But as tempting as that it is, they have over 100 less AP than Tier 8.5. The Saronite have nearly as much agility, but are lacking in everything else besides Armor Pen. Still, should Armor Pen prove worth our while, the ton of stamina on them also makes the Saronite decent for a stam set. Still, unless you are interested in stacking agility, Tireless Sentry > Darkcore, not only for total AP, but also for hit and crit. Tier 8.5 would have to be my choice, with the greatest AP of the lot, a ton of crit, abet it does have the least agility. It also has a +6 hit socket bonus for a bit of wiggle room.

Again, Brass-lined have a lot of agility, but the two sockets on the LW-made Living Scale give them nearly 50 more AP, in addition to their crit. Greaves of Swift Vengeance have a little more AP and a decent boost to agil over Living Scale, but they also have a lot of hit. This can be a mixed blessing, because a lot of good peices already have hit, and hit is preferred over ArPen, but it makes rebalancing other slots a pain.

Haste on the lot. Draconic Guile is the only one with out crit, but only offers Armor Pen as the alternative. Unless you already have the Kirin Tor band (I do not), don't bother upgrading unless you have bad luck on drops. Metallic Loop and Loop of the Agile have more AP and crit. Cindershard has a rather icky combination of Armor Pen and hit, and while it has more hit and agility than Surge Needle Ring, it does not beat it for pure AP, making it an upgrade for only Strong-Handed Ring.

Pyrite is a very nice upgrade from Grim Toll, replacing that lackluster proc with one much more appealing. If you need hit for some reason, it is nice. BotOG is an awesome further upgrade, with nearly all the hit you will ever need. Wrathstone is also a mediocre upgrade from Mirror of Truth. Wrathstone also marks the return of the "use every two-minutes" trinkets that seem to be lost in the latter half of 3.0, but its CD doesn't make up for MoT's proc. No upgrades for DMC: Greatness or Fury of the Five Flights, but if you lack one (like me), there are nice alternatives here.

I'm leaning towards the bow, but I have a feeling that there will be several debates and tests before it is decided. Obvious the xbow wins out in the end - finally breaks the 200 DPS benchmark!

While Hoperender does have an interesting socket, it still can't compare to Twisted Visage, which would be the direct upgrade to Black Ice. While the Spire has a lot of AP, it lacks the agility of the other three. The most direct upgrade to Journey's End appears to be Lotrafen, with its massive amount of crit. Rune Edge isn't bad either, missing just 10 Armor Pen from Lotrafen, and it would be nice to play with a sword again. It's kinda depressing that Algalon's stat stick has such icky stats, though the gems slots are nice :(.

Because of the simply amazing set bonuses on Tier 8, it is imperative to have four of the set. Eyeballing it, it looks like the weakest would be the shoulders, though our choices for the shoulder slot aren't exactly great all around. I'm leaning more towards not taking the gloves, the more I look at it.

Total hit on Tier 8.5: 143, or 149 if you go for the socket bonus on the pants. Add the hit from the bracers and cloak, then you have 222 hit, 6.77%. This is about 8 hit shy from 7%, freeing up two points from Focused Aim. If you'd rather not go with the socket bonus on the pants, then 14 hit can be made up by a gem.

Best week ever...

Indeed this has been The Best Week Ever! I don't even know where to start. I got ton of Achievements which doesn't mean that much to me I am far from an Achievements whore. One of the reason's it has been The Best Week Ever I got my 4th piece of T7 gear /cheer. Valorous Cryptstalker Handguards, Valorous Cryptstalker Spaulders, and Valorous Cryptstalker Tunic.

In my guild I need a Gear Score of 2000+ to enter Ulduar. I was sent to Wow-Heroes.com for my gear score. Wow-Heroes has me at 1,835, and WowHead has me at 2,073. I know I am far away from entering in Ulduar being under Hit cap. There are alot of upgrades I have left including better gems, 6 other pieces of gear, and enchants.

I have been questing to open up Dailies to get the proper gold to raid, Gem, and Enchant. I didn't play that much so I was rested from 75-80 so I missed a couple zones which means more gold per-quest turned in avg. 8-15g. And with Quest Helper it is a snap.

It's been awhile since I have written on this blog indeed. Alot has happened too! Well first off I dinged 80! /cheer yea me. I picked up some Achievements along the way. I am not an Achievement whore so that doesn't matter much. I started following QQPewPew guide to getting gear to prepare you for Naxxramas.

And with that I join my guild in Naxxramas 25 man got: Emblem of Valor Loot an Emblem of Valor, Heroic: Sapphiron's Demise Defeat Sapphiron on Heroic Difficulty in Naxxramas, Heroic: The Construct Quarter Defeat the bosses of The Construct Quarter of Naxxramas on Heroic Difficulty, Heroic: Kel'Thuzad's Defeat.

Defeat Kel'Thuzad on Heroic Difficulty in Naxxramas, and 25 Emblems of Heroism Loot 25 Emblems of Heroism. With that I bought Pendant of the Outcast Hero. And the boss drops I got: Crown of the Lost Protector, and turned it in for Valorous Cryptstalker Headpiece, Pauldrons of the Abandoned, Calamity's Grasp which is bad ass looking on your toon login screen. Twilight Mist, and Sealing Ring of Grobbulus in 10 man Naxxramas.

Pulled off some Heroics got: Interwoven Scale Bracers, Drake-Mounted Crossbow, Leggings of the Stone Halls,

Our favorite Greedy Goblin has reached 214,698 in gold second time capped. Thats just nuts just shows you that you can make money on the AH, and not farming it. His blog here nice read.
A very big announcement this evening from Zarhym. In the "next major content patch" (which means Patch 3.2) the mount system in WoW will be having some significant changes to it. The highlights are as follows:

Regular land mounts trainable at level 20 (was 30)
Epic land mounts trainable at level 40 (was 60)
Regular flying mounts trainable at level 60 (was 70)
Regular flying mounts speed increased to a 150% gain (was 60%)

The costs for all the training and mount purchases has been decreased outright, with the exception of the artisan riding skill (epic flying mounts). For all mount costs, faction discounts now apply.

This means that when you hit 60 you'll be able to fly around Hellfire and finish all those quests. Leveling from 60 to 68 is going to become easier and more relaxed. You'll hit Northrend much sooner with this change.

News From The Battlefield- Slow Wolf

I’m back from the war front!

Allies have died in droves, my gear has become tantamount to godlike, and my skill is legendary!..

Of course, that’s all from my point of view, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Colemand says a handful, but I told him to stuff it.

In any case, I’ve got some initial reactions to PvP as a new hunter with no gear to a semi-seasoned hunter with gear.

BATTLEGROUNDS
-Hit or miss. Either it rocks, or it sucks, and it’s usually never in between.

-If it is in between, it’s fun but ends in a disappointing manner for the most part.

-Retadins don’t stand a chance here. Death Knights are also easy enough.

-Actually, about retadins: most are played badly. The good ones still roflstomp me thanks to blessing of freedom completely destroying my ability to kite, and tranq shot doesn’t ever get rid of it. EVER.

-Rogues can go die in a fire.

-Mages? Ha! Warlocks? HA! Don’t even talk about druids: Feral is easy for Fafnir to kite, and resto can’t deal damage to save their lives. Boomkins, however, can prove tricky due to plate armor levels.

-About healers: I have no problem against any of them. Priests are particularly weak to me for some weird reason. They feel squishier than the rest.

-TANKS. I CAN DRIVE TANKS! *rabid* Oh, and prot anything is easily kitable, speaking of tanks.

-Eye of the Storm still sucks major bunions.

-Alterac Valley sucks more than it used to, which is impressive to say the least.

-Strand of the Ancients is the best battleground for honour farming hands down.

-Warsong Gulch is still the worst.

-Also, Seaforium Charges. Engineering needs more of those, Blizzard. Please give me lockpicking bombs.

-Arathi Basin is fun, but it takes a long time. Longer than Alterac Valley does. That’s a sad, sad state of affairs where the 40 man raid fights are shorter than the 15 man skirmishes. *cry*

-Beastmasters have to be really careful about their pets. REALLY careful. Pays off when the pet is a Chimera though, those things ROCK. Survivalists do so much burst it makes pop rocks seem flat. Marksmanship is like a jack in the box. It waits a good 8 seconds, and then it hits like a truck.

-Chimeras own. Fafnir can crit for 1 300 on occasion, and is hard to kill too. It’s silly.

WINTERGRASP
-What’s going on? West? Okay… oh I died. Umm, okay, I’m alive. Hey! They’re in our base! THEY MUST DIE! Wait huh? We lost? Oh nads.

-Okay, we’re attacking this time… OH! TANKS! TANKTANKTANKTANKTANK! *explosions* Roflstomped, biznatch.

-RP-GG. ’nuff said.

-Please, it’s not a “Plaguecarrier”, it’s a meatwagon. Durr. Or it should be, anyway.

-And why does the Alliance get our demolishers and Plaguemachines? That’s ridiculous, those are ours, not yours.

-Honour BUCKET. Holy cow is there a lot of honour to be had.

-Marks of Wintergrasp take too long to get. Way too long.

-If you’re focused, you die.

-Retadins with Tenacity greater than 3 are invincible. Same with Unholy Death knights.

-Lagalicious.

ARENA
-Would the following classes go die in a fire please: Holy Paladins, Retribution Paladins, Death Knights, and any combination of Rogues, Mages, and Priests.

-No but really? Rogue Mage Priest is stupid powerful. Too many CC abilities to even stand a chance.

-Rogues are brutal. Please nerf the noodle arms or expand our flare effect, please.

-Only way to survive a rogue is to be a beastmaster or have a very good healer. I chose to be a Beastmaster and if possible find a healer. But being a Beastmaster works for now.

-Getting the jump on the rogue presents fun times, however. Dead in 5 seconds is fun!

-Getting jumped by a rogue means death. 2 v 1, and the rogue won. Sap and Blind are an automatic 20 seconds of CC, 11 seconds minimum. Gouge is another 4.5, and the rogue cna always reset the match.

-In short, rogues control the match. Hunters are along for the ride.

-Learn to use Master’s Call or die.

-No really, it’s not useless. USE IT.

-NO REALLY.

-Same goes for your traps: make sure you use them every cooldown.

-Before even walking into an arena, have the 4 piece PvP set, an anti-CC trinket, and 1 other piece of PvP gear. If you don’t, you will die faster than you aready will even if you ahd that all.

-Keep your hit at around 155 to stay at the hit cap of 5%, or you will fail. Badly.

-I don’t care, but Orgrimmar arena ROCKS. Learn to use the terrain, even if it does seems random. No strategy in the RNG? Stop complaining! Control only makes stuff predictable: the unpredicatable and how you handle it is what makes a good PvPer.

-Dalaran Sewers are… interesting. Goign fwoosh is smartest for hunters since it allows you to check for humanoids before being able to be killed, adn then being placed somewhere advantageous.

-Nagrand is still the most love/hate relationship arena in my books.

CONCLUSION
I’m a total noob, and need practice. More later.

I am 1 1/2 levels away from 80. Good god seems like eterinity. I am starting to wear some gear that I can make now wahoo! Then I can start to follow the post below this post to start getting ready to head to Naxx it is so close I can taste it. I have came accross alot of sites that deal with math for the results of the most DPS for raiding they can cont todo the math, and I will play the game just to play the game leave the other info for the math wizs. I think it is just stupid for Blizzard charges to to fly in the Northend! 1000g really Blizzard! So I only have 7000g togo to get my Epic flying. It's not that I don't know how to make Wow gold I just don't invest enough time to play wow period to make the gold. I got my first icon made for me. Mariano Rivera Jr thanks!

Gear from the Frozen North

On Hunter blog QQPewPew posted this on November 24, 2008. Since I am getting closer to 80 it is an excellent post to follow. Thanks Drotara!

Some other folks have written up some great posts about places to look for gear for your Hunter. And after hitting 80 late late Friday night (or should I say morning) I figure I needed to narrow down places to look for great Hunter gear. To help me out, I navigated my way over to Wowhead and started going to town on filters to compile a list of gear I can obtain through quests, instances, etc.

To start, I decided to look up blue items that had a plethora of stat restrictions on them to make sure they would be good for use Hunters. The list I came up with is this. Certain item slots I had to be a little more discerning about, more specifically, which gear would be worth breaking my 4-piece Tier 6 bonus. Losing 10% more damage on Steady is a hefty portion of DPS and any upgrade (or a combination of a couple items) will need to make up that damage difference. My Tier 6 items are the breastplate, gloves, helm, and shoulders. Leggings, bracers, etc are more easily replaced. I only listed 2 items for each slot to keep this list fairly concise.

Helms

Plunderer’s Helmet - This is an excellent and easily the strongest choice pre-epic for a Hunter. It is loaded with all of our desirable stats, contains a red socket for our favorite stat *wink wink* and has a meta socket to boot. Ingvar the Plunderer from heroic Utgarde Keep carries this beauty along with some other shiny toys for us which I will mention in a bit. :)
King Dred’s Helm - Coming from it’s name sake in heroic Drak’tharon Keep, it has a plethora of our favorite stats but lacks gems or the meta socket to make it comparable with the aforementioned Plunderer’s Helmet but still a strong choice.

Breastplates

Hauberk of the Arcane Wrath - This is an exceptional breastplate, especially when you compare it to what Tier 6 provides. This is one of the items I am considering breaking my 4-piece bonus to use, since I picked it up last night. The only downfall I have right now is that my Tier 6 BP is keeping my meta gem active. You can find this bad boy off of Anomalus in heroic Nexus.
Aviary Guardsman’s Hauberk - Coming in as a zone drop, this is a BoE blue that you can find in Drak’Tharon Keep. Or your local Auction House, depending on who finds it. :)

Boots

Dragon Slayer Sabaton’s - These great boots drop off of Keristrazsa in heroic Violet Hold. While I probably would have found them more useful with the haste being critical strike rating, great stats combined with red sockets make me a happy Hunter.
Twin-headed Boots - Perhaps while running heroic Violet Hold to get the previously mentioned boots you might end up grabbing these very solid alternatives from one of the random bosses in the same instance.

Leggings

Hollowed Mandible Legplates - These leggings are located off of Hadronox in heroic Azjol-Nerub. Take a look at these things and tell me what’s not to love? It seems Blizzard is being awesome about their socket colors and the hardest decision is which gear I will have to skip filling red sockets to met meta requirements.
Ravenous Leggings of the Furbolg - You can pick these beauties off of Gortok Palehoof in heroic Utgarde Pinnacle. Very strong leather leggings to hold you over.

Gloves

Gauntlets of the Plunder Geist - These are very strong gloves that you can pick-up off of Prince Taldaram in heroic Ahn’kahet: The Old Kingdom. No sockets but a solid smattering of stats.
Grips of the Beast God -There were some BoP leather gloves I could have listed here but these were too good to pass up. These are BoE gloves with a *very* healthy chunk of hit rating on them in conjunction with a red socket who’s bonus is more hit rating. Knowing that we need 197 hit rating to reach the cap, 44 is a LONG way to reaching our goal.

Shoulders

Massive Spaulders of the Jormungar - In case you didn’t manage to get the leather leggings from the same boss, take consolation in knowing you might be able to pick these up instead, as they come from Gortok Palehoof in heroic Utgarde Pinnacle.
Spaulders of the Abomniation - Coming from Meathook in heroic CoT: Strat, these are another set of excellent shoulders. I chose to list these over the Spaulders of the Black Arrow since those are reputation items covered by Lassirra’s post.

Belts

Belt of Tasseled Lanterns - These are a random BoE blue that drops inside heroic Gundrak. Great stats with a socket to boot.
Cord of Swirling Winds - You can find this belt off of Ionar in heroic Halls of Lightning. Solid belt all around.

I could make this post go on and on covering rings, trinkets and everything else but it would be ridiculously long. There are a huge number of solid and viable trinkets to choose from. But I do want to highlight a couple non-raid epic items as well before I wrap this up.

Sovereign’s Belt - You can find this bad boy off of King Ymiron in heroic Utgarde Pinnacle.
Handgrips of the Savage Emissary -Cyanigosa is the on who drops these, from heroic Violet Hold.
Leggings of the Stone Halls - Sjonnir the Ironshaper in heroic Halls of Stone.
Interwoven Scale Bracers - Keristrasza in heroic Nexus drops these excellent wrists.

And of course:

Drake-Mounted Crossbow can be found off of Ingvar the Plunderer in heroic Utgarde Keep.

There are a number of crafted items to consider as well, esepcially from leatherworking that are excellent choices. All the items in this list, however, are either BoE or from 5-man heroic instances. No raid items included. I also chose to leave off the new badge items as well, which I should point contains some excellent gear.

When I saw the post of Wowinsider of the Star Trek references in the World of Warcraft. I did a google search of references in the World of Warcraft. 3 sites have references BlizzPlanet, WowWiki, and Eeggs. I will post some of my favorites when I get done reading those long pages.

Portal

The Cooking Achievement The Cake Is Not A Lie is a direct reference to the game Portal. The phrase translates to a reward which is fictitious and was popularized by the game Portal found on Half-Life's Orange Box release in which you are part of a study group controlled by a computer that attempts to motivate you to complete a series of tests involving a new device created by Aperture Science.

The book Thinking with Portals - A Memorandum on Proper Portal Usage can sometimes be found in Dalaran and is a reference to the motto of the game, "Now you're thinking with portals!", used by GLADoS after completing certain objectives.

Bambi

In Grizzly Hills, there are 4 NPCs located near each other with interesting names. These NPCs in question are one adult female deer named "Mother of Bambina", a younger female deer named "Bambina", also beside them there are one skunk named "Flora" and a small rabbit named "Thudder", these 4 are clearly a reference to Bambi.

A hunter will come out and shoot Mother of Bambina, exactly what happens in the Disney film Bambi.

Whenever "Mother of Bambina", "Flora", and "Thudder" are killed, "Bambina" turns into "Vengeful Bambina" which makes her hostile to anyone and gives her a buff called "Bambina's Vengeance", increasing all her damage dealt by 2000% and attack speed by 150%.

Full Metal Jacket

During the Death Knight starting quests in Acherus, at the early stage of creating your first rune blade, a book can be read near the runeforges with the text "This is my runeblade, there are many like it but this one is mine." This is an obvious reference to the mantra the Marine recruits are ordered to recite in Full Metal Jacket: "This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine".

Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark

In the Drakil'jin Ruins of Grizzly Hills, Harrison Jones reprises his role from Zul'Aman as a tribute to Indiana Jones and Harrison Ford. His dialogue in the quest Neutral [75] Dun-da-Dun-tah! includes several movie references, and the quest name itself refers to four notes of the famous Indiana Jones theme.

The Terminator

In Wintergarde Keep, during the quest Alliance Crest [72] Flight of the Wintergarde Defender, your character says "Come with me if you want to live". This is a running line from The Terminator series. Kyle Reese (played by Michael Biehn [4]) tells this to Sarah Connor (played by Linda Hamilton [5] in the first movie. In the second movie, a terminator (played by Arnold Schwarzennegger [6]) repeats this line to Sarah Connor, while in the television series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles [7] the line is reprised by Summer Glau [8] in her role as Cameron Philips, a terminator modeled after captured freedom fighter Allison Young who was sent back (of course) to protect John Connor.

The Simpsons

In the Death Knight starting area, the quest "Nowhere To Run And Nowhere To Hide" sends you to kill Mayor Quimby, an obvious reference to Joseph Fitzgerald O'Mally Fitzpatrick O'Donnell "Joe" Quimby, better known as "Diamond" Joe Quimby, the mayor of Springfield. The title of the quest is also a possible reference to the KISS song "Nowhere to Run".

In the Borean Tundra while questing for D.E.T.A you ride one of the neutral mammoths in the area, once mounted the Mammoth's name appears as "Stampy" a reference to Bart Simpson's pet elephant of the same name.

The achievement Crazy Cat Lady ( heroic ) is most likely a nod to the series' infamous Crazy Cat Lady, which is in turn a reference to the stereotype of old women who own or shelter a lot of cats.

South Park

In Howling Fjord, the Valgarde defenders are armed with rifles. Before killing approaching NPCs they yell "It's coming right for us." A reference to an early South Park episode dealing with the Second Amendment. It was explained that with the new changes in government you could only fire your weapons in self defense, therefore, hunters could legally shoot anything by claiming self defense, but only after yelling "It's coming right for us."

While not quite making it into The Burning Crusade, the [The Sword of a Thousand Truths] was introduced as a drop in the new Naxxramas, and renamed [Slayer of the Lifeless], complete with the flavor text, "Foretold by Salzman," both obvious nods to the "Make Love, Not Warcraft" episode.

The PvP achievement "Make Love, Not Warcraft", is a reference to the South Park episode, where the South Park gang play World of Warcraft. The achievement requires you to the same thing that Stan did to his dad before he died.

Run DMC

In Borean Tundra, you receive a quest called The Nefarious Clam Master. In the quest you have to defeat a mob called "Clam Master K". This is a reference to the late great Jam Master Jay of Run DMC.

Nelly

The achievement Getting Cold in Here ( heroic ) is a reference to the song Hot in Herre, whose lyrics go "It's gettin' hot in here / So take off all your clothes."

J. R. R. Tolkien

[Mrgl Blade] is a selectable reward upon completion of the Borean Tundra quest Neutral [71] Escape to Winterfin Retreat. This is a reference to the Morgul-Blade that the Witch-King of Angmar uses to stab Frodo at Weathertop in Tolkien's novel The Fellowship of the Ring.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

In the sewers of Dalaran, beneath some pipes and near some glowing green ooze, there is a rat surrounded by four baby turtles, an obvious reference to Splinter, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

X-Men

In Dragonblight, during the quest Slay Loguhn, you are tasked with killing a Wolvar named Loguhn. This mob's name is a sound-alike to Logan, the civilian identity of Marvel X-Men's Wolverine character. The presence of blade-talon fist weapons (bone claws) on Loguhn's hands further enhances their similarity.

The A-Team

When returning the makings of a trap to Alliance Admiral Odesyus , he says "I love it when a plan comes together", a line spoken in almost every episode of 'The A-Team by Hannibal Smith.

Battlestar Galactica

In the Blizzard website promoting the new Arena Tournament, the promotional pictures show a female blood elf named "Boomer" fighting against a draenei warrior named "Apollo" as well as a rogue canamedlled "Gaius", in reference to the Battlestar Galactica characters Sharon "Boomer" Valerii, Lee "Apollo" Adama, and Gaius Baltar.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

[The Seal of Danzalar], which drops in Serpentshrine Cavern, is a reference to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The phrase "From beneath you, it devours" comes from a reference in the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer; it translates to the gateway to the Sunnydale Hellmouth. The item's name is a play on "The Seal of Danzalthar" which is the name of the seal that covers the Sunnydale Hellmouth.

Dirty Jobs

"Dirty" Mike Crowe can be found in Theramore near the docks selling fish. This is a reference to Mike Rowe who is the star of the show.

Fight Club

At Wildhammer Stronghold, outside the inn, you will find two dwarfs: Barimoke Wildbeard and Bron Goldhammer. They have a routine that starts of with "Bron! 'Ey, Bron! Hit me!". This is a reference to the first fight between the narrator and Tyler Durden.

Futurama

In the Apothecarium area is a large, stitched together thing that periodically blorps a load of the green funk that fills the Canals, vaguely reminiscient of the Slurm Queen's behind in the episode "Fry & The Slurm Factory"

Outside The Exodar, a small black cat called "Nibblet" can be seen walking around. This is probably a reference to the monkey/cat-like pet alien "Nibbler" from the show.

Gladiator

The sword [Gladiator's Greatsword] is indicated to be built to "Proximo's specification" in the item description. Proximo was the slave trader/former gladiator who bought Maximus and trained him as a gladiator.

I, Robot

The a quest in Outland named "You, Robot" is a reference to I, Robot, see entry in Literature section.

Indiana Jones

There is an NPC in the Zul'Aman instance named Harrison Jones, an obvious reference to starring actor Harrison Ford and his role as the title character. In his dialogue, he accuses the player of only wanting to acquire Zul'Aman's treasures for themselves, instead of taking them to a museum where they belong, in his opinion (which is one of Jones' main motives for his expeditions).

MacGyver

The Grandmaster engineering trainer in Zabra'jin in Zangarmarsh is named Mack Diver, a reference to Richard Dean Anderson's character MacGyver in the series of the same name.

Men in Black

The Goblin guards in Area 52 are all dressed in tuxedos resembling the business suits from the Men in Black comics and film. They also carry the huge guns that Tommy Lee Jones equipped in the first film. The fact that they guard 'Area 52' is appropriate, as it is a take on 'Area 51'.

When you leave 'Area 52' you will be hit by a flash of light and you receive a buff called A-52 Neuralyzer whos tooltip say "The flash of light you did not see did not erase your memories". This is a reference to the "Neuralizer" device that the Men in Black used to erase and alter the memories of the people who saw an alien.

Pee-wee's Playhouse

In Bloodmaul Ravine, players can find the ghostly disembodied head of T'chali the Witch Doctor which is possibly a reference to another similarly colored disembodied head, Jambi the Genie.

Saturday Night Live

There is a quest called Neutral [69] Needs More Cowbell, which is obtainable from Kirin'Var Village near Sunfury Hold in southeastern Netherstorm, a reference to the famous Christopher Walkin sketch.

The Simpsons

There is a quest NPC in Eversong Woods named Groundskeeper Wyllithen, a reference to Groundskeeper Willie of Simpsons fame.

The skinning trainer in Shattrath City is called Seymour , a reference to Seymour Skinner the principal of Springfield Elementary School.

The Mr. Pinchy item is a direct reference to the lobster that Homer raises and is forced to eat by himself when he accidentally cooks it.

Millhouse Manastorm, a gnome mage, appears and assists your party during the final boss fight in Arcatraz. This is a reference to Millhouse Van Houten, Bart Simpson's best friend.

Shakespeare

In the raid instance Karazhan, one of the boss-encounters you have to face in the Opera Event consists of Romulo and Julianne, playing off of Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. Julianne can also drop [Romulo's Poison Vial]. Romulo and Julianne also use famous quotes from Shakespeare's original play while engaging in combat.

One of the quests in Bloodmaul Ravine is called "A Curse Upon Both of Your Clans!" — a reference to Mercutio's oft repeated curse "a plague on both your houses!"

The zombies in duskwood sometimes drop [Pound of Flesh]. An obvious reference to one of his plays; "The Merchant of Venice".

Delmore Schwartz

During the Prince Malchezaar encounter in Karazhan he can be heard saying "Time is the fire in which you'll burn..." which is a reference to the poem "Calmly We Walk Through This April's Day" by Delmore Schwartz (the same poem is also quoted in the "Star Trek: Generations" movie).

Eminem

There is a vendor outside of the Mana-Tombs named "Slim" -- he is a . This is a reference to one of Eminem's stage names, Slim Shady, and also to his hit song "The Real Slim Shady". Said vendor's dialog includes "No my name isn't really Slim." Thus, he isn't "The Real Slim Shady".

Carl Perkins & Elvis Presley

A pair of shoes named [Blue Suede Shoes] drop from Kaz'rogal in the Hyjal Summit event in Caverns of Time. Carl Perkins wrote a song with that name, famously covered by Elvis Presley, and the yellow flavor text on the shoes in the game "Keep Off" is a reference to the lyrics.

Classic Fairy Tales

A cloak called [The Emperor's New Cape] drops from Emperor Thaurissan in Black Rock Depths. The cloak is unique in that it is completely invisible. This is a reference to the classic fairy tale The Emperor's New Clothes.

Forrest Gump

A dwarven fisherman named Gubber Blump can be found on the beach near Auberdine; he is a reference to both Forrest and his friend Bubba. His dialogue is similar to both characters; he introduces himself "My name's Gubber, Gubber Blump" and later recites a list of all the different ways to cook "crab".

In the human capital of Stormwind, the flower shop is run by Bernard Gump.

Good ways to spec your pets..

Over at Pike's page he has some interesting thing that helps you spec your pet in 3.1. Pet specs have been shaken up a bit with the advent of 3.1, so let’s talk about how you will ideally spec your three types of pets. First up, pet specs for us Beast Masters (I’ll cover you non-extra-talent-points folks in a later post!)

Ferocity:

You will probably want your Ferocity pet’s talent tree to look like this. This scoops up everything you need to ensure your pet is the instrument of your vengeance in your average raid or heroic. Of course, there are adjustments you can make if you are solo’ing or leveling and would rather pick up, say, the stamina or healy-type talents. But honestly, Heart of the Phoenix never once worked for me anyway, so I didn’t really have a problem with ditching it… >.>

Tenacity:

With Thunderstomp no longer Gorilla-exclusive and some great new tanky-talents, the Tenacity changes were really great. I have found this to be a very good pet-tanking build. You purposefully bypass some of the typical “DPS” talents in favor of making your pet able to take it, if not dish it out. There is some flexibility here if you’re not a big fan of Last Stand and would rather put the Avoidance+Last Stand points somewhere else, although I’ve found it to be quite a lifesaver in multiple tricky situations, myself… I wouldn’t go without it.

Cunning:Your cunning pet is a very versatile creature who can be used in a variety of situations, and as such I consider his talent tree to be the most flexible in terms of talents that you do/don’t want to take. I have found that this works very well from a solo’ing or questing standpoint. I know Cunning pets are often overlooked these days but honestly, equipped with things like Owl’s Focus, Feeding Frenzy, Wolverine Bite and Roar of Recovery (now with a shorter cooldown), they are not to be underestimated. Try one out and see what you think.

Zul'Aman 6 man..

Attempted Zul'Aman last night we started with 8 ppl. Then lost the main tank Pally tank took over, and another person d/c'd. And then there was 6 we took down 2 bosses with 6 then we gave up. But altogether it was fun. I was really only there for the bear shoulders, and the Achievement.

So my buddy decided he wanted to make a twink rogue. He is a big A$$ dork no clue what he is doing. I ran him through RFC, WC, DM, and SFK. Got some really nice loot. I got the Achievement for WC, and DM. Explained to him he need AGI, and AP. Not cloth gear. In cases I would just ignore ppl that don't take time to look into there class that there gonna play. For the most part I got the gear that he needs when the time is right. I pulled most of the instances with Eyes of the Beast Nator my Gorilla goes out and rounds up all the mob with Thunderstomp every now and then, and brings them back to me I drop a Explosive Trap make sure Nator is on defend then Volley. I had so much fun 8) TTFN.

Weekly Update: Part One

Finally started working on Abruzzi. Started questing my ass off got 500 quests achievement right off the bat. Everyone in my guild was getting Home Alone, and I just had to get it the funniest achievement in the game. Not only worked from 72-75 this weekend I also worked on my leatherworking (425). Got some new talents that I can't wait to try out Apsect of the DragonHawk. I did get to see a couple instances along the way Azjol-Nerub, Drak'Tharon Keep, and Utgarde Keep.

Another week in the books. /cheer I have spent alot of time on my Death Knight which hit 64 last night. I did like 33 quests in Hellfire, and about ready to move on to Zangarmarsh. The one thing I hate most on this PvP Server is getting ganked by high level players. Don't get me wrong I can handle myself with someone my level of a couple levels higher won't cry if I get beat by a worlock that had a DOT up on me, and I died shortly after he did lol, but no fun getting 2 shoted by a level 80. I did manage to get into a grp for Mana Tombs was a ok run. Did venture over to my favorite instance of all time Scarlet Monastery. And got a present with the trip Ardent Custodian. Which when it sells will help fund my flying mount when that time comes. Also the Deadman's Hand dropped too. In all of my time spent in the Scarlet Monastery I have never seen either of those too drop.

Money making tips from WowWhimsy

1.Roll a banker alt

A banker alt is an alt that spends all its time running between the mailbox, bank and Auction House (AH).

This is the most important thing you can do to start making money. When you’re clearing your bags on your non-banker alt, send things you think will sell well on the AH (and stuff you want to keep for another alt) to your banker. Login to your banker at the beginning/end of each WoW session to post new auctions and collect cash from successful ones.

And use an addon (like Auctioneer) to help you manage your AH activities.

2. Get big bags

Before you start splashing out on fancy gear, fill your character’s bag slots with the biggest bags you can afford from the AH. This will give you more time between visits to the mailbox, and prevent you having to throw stuff away to make space. As I mentioned in an earlier post, 16-slot bags are the sweet spot. But if you don’t have a rich alt to hand you cash, start with 10- or 12- slotters.

(If you’re new to WoW, then don’t spend all your money on bags. You’ll need some for training and repairs. But buy bags before you start buying armor and weapons - see item 5. It should only take a few stacks of copper bars before you can get your first 16-slot bag - see item 3).
3. Take up gathering professions

All my alts level with skinning and (mining or herbalism). You can sell the mats you gather at a good price on the AH, and use your proceeds to buy the things you might have made for yourself if you’d taken a different profession. My favorite combination is skinning and mining. The ore you mine fetches a very good price in the AH - even copper ore. Leather pays slightly less, but skinners have the advantage that ‘Skinning Nodes’ magically appear whenever they kill a beast.

Its fine if you want to level a manufacturing profession, but don’t pretend you’re doing it for money. You may make some cash at endgame (selling bullets and arrows to hunters, for example), but you’re using the mats you could have sold as you level. And even if you decide to level a manufacturing profession, its still a good idea to make sure this alt is going to be one you enjoy playing before investing in skilling up. (Tin and I have probably halfway leveled 10 engineering alts between us - we always seem to get bored with all our engineers and delete them).
4. Always loot your kills

Sounds funny to say that your should pack gray items into your bags, but the cumulative effect of vendoring grays adds up to a lot of money over 80 levels. Tin uses GarbageFu, which tells her she’s made over 300g from vendoring grays. And she’s not had it installed all the time. You can always throw away grays if your bags gets full.

(GarbageFu seems to be a bit broken right now, which is why I’m not linking it).
5. Don’t buy stuff you don’t need

Being decked out in blues or purples as you level makes you feel good, but the leveling speed these days will make them quickly obsolete. Save your money and kit yourself in drops, quest rewards and careful purchases from the AH. Running instances is a good way to get the blues you want.
6. Sell non-BoP world event prizes

If you’re not bothered about achievements, then things like Preserved Holly, Red Helper Boxes, and Jingling Bells fetch a lot on the AH a few months after the event has ended. For example, I grabbed all the Winter Veil gifts with my alts, and I’m now selling off my Bind-on-Use pets for around 100g each.

Similarly, make sure you understand what special quest items will be needed for world events. For example, demand for Darkmoon Faire hand-ins rockets when the Faire is in town. The same applies for demand for mats for new recipes that appear when a patch drops.

(I still remember our first WoW Valentines Day. Tin and I made a fortune (or so it seemed then) by collecting cards from the alliance guards and selling them on the trade channel).
7. Be patient

Don’t be in a hurry to sell if AH prices have taken a temporary dip. Over time, you’ll learn how much you can get for things. If you see someone selling really low, then buy it up and relist it when prices rise again. Scan the AH with Auctioneer regularly to keep your price database up to date. And don’t saturate the market with your gathering profession stuff - sell it a little at a time to give the buyer the impression these items are scarce.

Conversely, you’ll make very little money (and lose a lot of deposits) if you hold out for the absolute highest prices on the AH. Take a tip from your local used car dealership - it can be more profitable to sell a lot of stuff quickly at a small profit than to sell a small amount at a high profit.

Many people focus on particular areas of the AH economy - enchanting mats, cloth, mats from gathering professions, or whatever. Understand what the things you sell regularly are used for, so you can predict how changes in one profession might effect another. For a while, I made a lot of money spotting blue items listed below market price and relisting them for a profit.

If you do take up a production profession, find items that are in high demand from other professions or as quest hand-ins.
8. Know something your buyer doesn’t

Its amazing how much people will pay for stuff that’s cheap to buy from vendors (if you choose the right vend0r). Find recipes from out of the way vendors and sell for a big profit on the AH.

Similarly, if you have a friend with a character of the opposite faction, then use the neutral AHs to swap stuff so you can auction it to the faction where the price is higher. As an example, Tin and I regularly exchange pets - you can buy them for ~40s and sell for 10-20G. I wrote about how to do this in an earlier post. (This was a huge earner when the pet achievements were first launched. It easily paid for Tin’s Epic Flying Mount before demand started to slacken off).
9. Always set a buyout price on the AH

The people with the most money want something now - they don’t want to wait for the auction to finish.
10. Plan ahead

Don’t start thinking about the money you need for your level 60 Epic Mount when you’re level 59. You should start saving for it as soon as you’ve saved enough for your level 30 mount.

Have a second alt who acts as a savings bank. I find that my main bank/AH character tends to spend money as soon as he gets it. It is always in the name of turning a profit, but profit is worthless if you constantly reinvest it (or spend it on shiny things).

So cream a little off each sale and send it to your savings alt who you rarely log on with; that way you will accumulate gold without risking spending it again. Very handy when you are saving up for something in particular.

Anelf and I disagree on the 16-slot bag being the sweet spot. If you frequently fill up bags (as I do), a couple extra slots will pay for themselves quickly at higher levels. I think about it this way — 1-3 gold per gray, or stack of gray items, times 2 extra slots per questing circuit, call it an average of about 4g every time you visit a vendor to empty bags. I forget the exact difference in AH bag prices, but I’m pretty sure you pay for the difference in 4-5 trips, if you are like me and frequently end up with full bags. Over the course of your game play, an extra two gray item sales at ever vendor could really pay big dividends. Because I’m a pack-rat, I go for 20 slots as soon as I can afford them. I also acknowledge these aren’t absolutely necessary and take much longer to pay off, but I’m pretty sure they have paid for themselves and then some on my skinner and my herbalist toons.

I agree with the tree, however, that this depends upon your starting bankroll. If you have somewhat limited funds, by all means, start with the bags you can afford, and the 16-slots are a good investment on the price per slot basis.

So I have another hour, and a half of speccing again next time I log on. Well with the time I have I will have to look into what others that are speccing to this time, and save myself some time. Should have done that in the first place.

General

In order to address issues with the dual talent specialization system, all players will have their talents points refunded. Players who have purchased dual talent specializations will have both specializations reset. Glyphs will not be affected by this reset.

Bugs

Characters who are not of the same race or class are once again able to view each others’ professions linked in chat.
Fixed an issue in which player and pet nameplates were appearing larger than normal.
Thrall’s throne has been adjusted back to its proper size and the base replaced. He will no longer need to defy gravity.
Fixed an issue with a display error on druid leather helms.
Corrected an issue for GeForce2/ATI 7 series card users that would result in critical errors for select actions in game. As a result certain projected textures, like spell effects and targeting circles, will no longer render on some terrain objects.

Achievements:

Corrected an issue preventing players from earning the achievement, “Storming Stormwind.” Players who were not properly awarded this achievement for completing the objective should retroactively be granted completion.

Well another week has came, and gone! For the most part I had to Respec my Hunter, Paladin, and Death Knight an hour and a half later I finally got to play. /cheer

What little effort I put into my Hunter was to clean out all the misc loot greens sent to my Paladin which is my new alt banker (68g). He gets all of my greens that I get while questing with a 10% cut from total amount made with questing. So my Paladin is like a savings account. Put it away for a rainy day.

So the most part of my evening was playing my Death Knight, and I even tanked Black Rock Depths, and Ramps! FTW! Other then being ganked by high level players on my new pvp server it was an awesome experience. The thing I have to get used to while questing is watching my back unlike what I ever had todo on my Hunter.

Did it look like this on your server last night are you one of the few ready for Ulduar what I have read about is that there are about 10% of 11 million players the will step into Ulduar this week. I am a month, or two out before I even walk the halls of Naxx then a month, or two more for Ulduar.

For Hunters this is what the official 3.1 from World of Warcraft site has up.

Hunters

Ammunition: All types of gun and bow ammunition now stack to 1000. All quivers and ammo pouches no longer provide haste. 15% ranged haste is now built into the hunter's Auto Shot.
Aspect of the Pack is now raid wide, and radius increased from 30 yards to 40 yards.
Call Stabled Pet: This new ability lets the hunter remotely access the stable. 30-minute cooldown.
Cunning, Ferocity and Tenacity pets now all have +5% damage, +5% armor and +5% health bonuses. This should make more pet families feel viable, while additional talents have been added to distinguish a pet’s abilities based on its specializations.
Disengage: Cooldown increased by 5 seconds.
Frost Trap: If the target who triggers Frost Trap is immune to its effect, the Frost Trap area effect will no longer be triggered. Now reduces speed by 50% (previously 60%).
Pets now inherit more spell hit from the hunter. Pets with magic attacks should not require a player to stack additional hit compared to pets with physical attacks.
Viper Sting redesigned: Stings the target, draining 4% of mana over 8 seconds (up to a maximum of 8% of the caster's maximum mana), and energizing the hunter equal to 300% of the amount drained. Only one Sting per hunter can be active on any one target.
Talents

Beast Mastery

Animal Handler: No longer reduces the cooldown of Master's Call, but instead increases the duration of the Master's Call effect by 3/6 seconds.
Improved Aspect of the Hawk now has a new spell effect.

Marksmanship

Chimera Shot: Mana cost reduced from 16% to 12%.
Concussive Barrage redesigned: 2-point talent. Now causes your Multi-Shot and Chimera Shot to have a 50/100% chance to daze the target for 4 seconds.
Efficiency: Increased to 3/6/9/12/15% up from 2/4/6/8/10%.
Piercing Shots redesigned: Your critical Aimed, Steady and Chimera Shots cause the target to bleed for 10/20/30% of the damage dealt over 8 seconds. The damage done by this talent no longer receives modifications from effects that increase or decrease damage done by a percentage.
Ranged Weapon Specialization: Points reduced from 5 to 3, 1/3/5%.
Rapid Recuperation redesigned: You gain 2/4% of your mana every 3 seconds while under the effect of Rapid Fire, and you gain 1/2% of your mana every 2 seconds for 6 seconds when you gain Rapid Killing.
Silencing Shot: No longer on the global cooldown.
Wild Quiver: Chance increased to 4/8/12%, up from 4/7/10%. Damage increased from 50% of an Auto Shot to 80%.

Survival

Entrapment redesigned: When your Frost Trap, Immolation Trap, Explosive Trap and Snake Trap are triggered, you entrap all afflicted targets, preventing them from moving for 2/3/4 seconds.
Explosive Shot: Base damage lowered by 10%. Attack power scaling reduced by 12.5%. The periodic damage from this ability no longer triggers Judgement of Wisdom and Judgement of Light.
Hunting Party: This talent has been reduced to 3 points, and now increases your total agility by an additional 1/2/3%.
Lock and Load redesigned: You now have a 33/66/100% chance when you trap a target with Freezing Trap, Freezing Arrow or Frost Trap and a 2/4/6% chance when you deal periodic damage with your Immolation Trap or Black Arrow to cause your next 2 Arcane Shot or Explosive Shot spells to trigger no cooldown, cost no mana and consume no ammo. This now has a new spell effect and sound.
New Talent: Black Arrow: Fires a Black Arrow at the target, increasing all damage done by you to the target by 6% and doing periodic shadow damage for 15 seconds. 30-second cooldown. Shares a cooldown with all other traps.
T.N.T.: Increases damage done by Explosive Shot, Immolation Trap, and Explosive Trap by 2/4/6%.
Trap Mastery: This talent has been moved up to tier-2, up from tier-9, and is now a 3-point talent.
Trap Mastery, Resourcefulness and T.N.T. now all affect Black Arrow.
Improved Wing Clip: This talent has been removed.
Wyvern Sting: Duration increased from 12 seconds to 30 seconds. PvP duration reduced from 10 seconds to 6 seconds.

Pets

Bullheaded now adds 20% damage reduction for 12 seconds along with its current CC-removal effect.
Cornered: The critical strike reduction when this ability is active has been increased.
Feeding Frenzy increased to 8/16% damage up from 6/12%.
Furious Howl (wolf special ability) now stacks with Battle Shout and Blessing of Might, however, it only affects the wolf and hunter. Its effect and cooldown have been doubled so that it provides the same benefit but isn’t up 100% of the time.
Gorillas now have a new family ability, Pummel, which works like the warrior ability and has a single rank.
Grace of the Mantis and Roar of Sacrifice are now also available to Cunning pets.
Great Resistance increased to 5/10/15% magic damage reduction, up from 3/6/9%.
Roar of Recovery cooldown decreased to 3 minutes, down from 6 minutes.
New Talent: Shark Attack: This new 2-rank talent is available to Ferocity pets. It increases pet damage.
New Talent: Silverback: This new 2-rank talent is available to Tenacity pets. It heals the pet when Growl is used.
Roar of Sacrifice can be used on the hunter only.
Stampede (rhino) only affects 1 target, but adds a 25% bleed damage debuff (that does not stack with Mangle etc.) in addition to its knockback.
Thunderstomp is no longer a gorilla-specific family ability and is now available to all Tenacity pets. It has been reduced to one rank.
Turtles and Crabs now dwell in waters of and off Eversong and the Ghostlands, giving Blood Elf hunters access to local Tenacity pets.
New Talent: Wild Hunt: This new 2-rank talent is available to all 3 pet trees. Increases the contribution your pets get from your stamina by 20/40% and attack power by 10/20%.

I am very pleased that the Wowarmory got a face lift. The Talent Specialization shows what 2 specs you currently have. Also has the Achievements with your progression which is a pretty cool feature. I got lost in the Statistics page trying to figure out how far back it goes will get back to yah on that.

(95g start) Right now I am getting used to being a Marksman Hunter Abruzzi now has a Raptor "Fred (68)." With Abruzzi being level 72 taking on level 70-72 in . So sometimes I pull aggro from Fred then have to FD alot which isn't a problem just let Fred regain aggro while I let auto shot take over then let out the damage. I can't wait for Fred to catch up to me so he can hold the aggro better.

When I logged on yesterday I joined a group to MT. I am getting around 800xp from trash mobs, and around 1400xp from bosses plus it was a quick trip like 15-20 minutes.

I setup QuestHelper from Curse, and was smashing out quests left, and right. I always hated questing, but with QH it was a snap.

My RL life buddy I use to raid with on Maurdon transfered his Mage Sumofunk to a PVP Server BlackRock. I am in a pinch with the cash flow so I haven't transfered Abruzzi to the server yet.

So I rolled a Death Knight, and rolled through the starter area. Blizzard to an awesome job on the Death Knight story line the quests were awesome, and a fun way to get to know your class, and abilities.The last quest was one of the most Epic quests that I have ever played. So Tendaar is now 58. I rolled him into WSG. This is one of my favorite Battle Grounds. With the first WSG it was full of DK's on both sides so alot of the fights were epic, and I got 3-4 achievements.

Imagine if I sold these items on the weekend I would have made a ton more.

I was never trying to sell my account. I wasn't really thinking that much about Wow in my (127 day) Wow break. One of the main reasons I took a break from Wow was, because my account was hacked. And they banned my account for Gold farming. To tell you the truth I spent gold as fast as I ever got it the most that I ever saved up was for Epic mounts Ground/Flying.

When I finally got my account back every item was broken (Red). Repair bill was like 80g which came from the 1500g they left on my toon. When I play I think of other people so I shared my gold that the farmer left on my account with my guild, and friends.

I did a respec on my hunter I am a "Mail wearing Mage." Or so BRK says. 8) Another goal I forgot to mention. When I get to that level Loque'nahak will be in my sights. When I ran though a couple of the major cities I did not see a hunter with one. Well I didn't look that hard. Maybe next time.

When I leveled up my Hunter I have always set goals to get certain items, or reach certain content. The item I had my heart set on at the time was Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix from Karazhan, Prince Malchezaar. I got the bow about a month before WotLK came out. The Content I wanted to see was Black Temple. And when they nerfed content I did get to see Black Temple 4/9 bosses downed it was an awesome feeling, cause I never thought I would ever get to see that content.

Now since I am back to the grind it's time to set new goals. If this shows up the Hoperender. And conent I want to see is The Four Horsemen. Remember the The Four Horsemen back in the days from NWA. Haha!

* Lock and Load redesigned: You now have a 33/66/100% chance when you trap a target with Freezing Trap, Freezing Arrow or Frost Trap and a 2/4/6% chance when you deal periodic damage with your Immolation Trap or Black Arrow to cause your next 2 Arcane Shot or Explosive Shot spells to trigger no cooldown, cost no mana and consume no ammo. This now has a new spell effect and sound.

* New Talent: Black Arrow: Fires a Black Arrow at the target, increasing all damage done by you to the target by 6% and doing periodic shadow damage for 15 seconds. 30-second cooldown.

* T.N.T.: Gives your Explosive Shot a 33/66/100% chance to refresh the duration of your Immolation Trap effect on the target.

* Trap Mastery: This talent has been moved up to tier-2, up from tier-9, and is now a 3-point talent.

* Trap Mastery, Resourcefulness and T.N.T. now all affect Black Arrow.

* Improved Wing Clip: This talent has been removed.

* Wyvern Sting: Duration increased from 12 seconds to 30 seconds. PvP duration reduced from 10 seconds to 6 seconds.

Pets

* Bullheaded now adds 20% damage reduction for 12 seconds along with its current CC-removal effect.

* Cornered: The critical strike reduction when this ability is active has been increased.

* Feeding Frenzy increased to 8/16% damage up from 6/12%.

* Furious Howl (wolf special ability) now stacks with Battle Shout and Blessing of Might, however, it only affects the wolf and hunter. Its effect and cooldown have been doubled so that it provides the same benefit but isnt up 100% of the time.

* Gorillas now have a new family ability, Pummel, which works like the warrior ability and has a single rank.

* Grace of the Mantis and Roar of Sacrifice are now also available to Cunning pets.

* Great Resistance increased to 5/10/15% magic damage reduction, up from 3/6/9%.

* Roar of Recovery cooldown decreased to 3 minutes, down from 6 minutes.

* New Talent: Shark Attack: This new 2-rank talent is available to Ferocity pets. It increases pet damage.

* New Talent: Silverback: This new 2-rank talent is available to Tenacity pets. It heals the pet when Growl is used.

* Roar of Sacrifice can be used on the hunter only.

* Stampede (rhino) only affects 1 target, but adds a 25% bleed damage debuff (that does not stack with Mangle etc.) in addition to its knockback.

* Thunderstomp is no longer a gorilla-specific family ability and is now available to all Tenacity pets. It has been reduced to one rank.

* Turtles and Crabs now dwell in waters of and off Eversong and the Ghostlands, giving Blood Elf hunters access to local Tenacity pets.

* New Talent: Wild Hunt: This new 2-rank talent is available to all 3 pet trees. Increases the contribution your pets get from your stamina by 20/40% and attack power by 10/20%.

It's been a long time comming!

It has been awhile since I played Wow (127 days). I have 3 high level toons Hunter (72), Paladin (51), and now a new Death Knight (56). The fun part about comming back yesterday was the Death Knight. I have alot of research todo if I want to cont to play the Death Knight, cause at times I felt like I was just hitting buttons. I did play long enough to get my mount which was an interesting quest.

Getting back into the swing of things was kinda fun. But being behind sucks not alot of ppl my leveling. I did come accross a Mage level 73 working on his 4th toon to 80. I wish I could get my main there first, but three 80's is crazy. I wish I had that much time to invest into a game, and maintain a career, and relationship. (One day I will talk Ang into playing Wow, but now happy she will play Mario Brother's 3).

Gonna do some research on Death Knights best leveling specs. Play with WowHead to respec hunter, cause right now it is a big mess.

A new begining!

November 30, 2008 9:12:30 PM was the last time I logged in to play wow! Thats 127 days without playing Wow! Thats my longest stretch without playing Wow. Abruzzi is level 71! This blog is my jornal to 80, and any of my tips I have found along the way.
